This magnetic knife block keeps your knives on the outside instead of in slots. You place the knife against the walnut wood and the magnets pick it up, with the edge clear of any other surface, so you see at a glance which knife you need before you walk over to the fire.
Overview during prep
In a classic slotted block, the edge scrapes along the wood every time you pull a knife out, and moisture and crumbs get left behind that you cannot get out. With this block everything sits open: you wipe it clean with a cloth and the edge touches only air.
