Analogue Thermometer - Grill Bill

An analogue kamado thermometer is the simplest tool on your barbecue and also the most used. It sits in the dome of your Grill Bill and shows you at a glance how hot it is inside: handy when you want to get up to pizza temperature, and just as handy when you want to stay low for a long session. This is the original thermometer that comes as standard on the Pro and Classic kamados, so as a replacement it fits straight into the existing opening.

Why you want an analogue kamado thermometer

Without a readable dome temperature you're steering by feel, and on a long session that can easily cost you a couple of hours. With a working gauge you see immediately whether your vents are open too far or the fire still needs to catch.

How to read it correctly

The dome temperature is the air temperature at the lid, not the temperature at the grate or inside the meat. For core temperature use a separate probe thermometer, for example from our bbq thermometers. Expect the dome to read slightly higher than the grate; learn that offset for your own kamado and you'll be able to steer very precisely.

Maintenance

Remove the thermometer before burning off the kamado at high temperature and keep the glass clean with a dry cloth. Tighten the mounting nut by hand, not with pliers.
