These kamado gloves from Grill Fanatics are made for the moments where you'd otherwise hold your breath: shifting a grate that's been over the coals for an hour, moving a cast iron pan, or lifting the lid when it's still well over two hundred degrees inside. They extend past your wrist, so your forearm stays protected when you need to reach deep into the kamado. They're sold as a pair.
Why separate kamado gloves
On a ceramic barbecue it's not just the fire that gets hot. The ceramic, the metal bands and the grates store heat and release it for hours. That's exactly why a short oven mitt leaves your wrist brushing against the hot rim of the kamado, and that's where it goes wrong. A long cuff solves that.

How to use them
Put them on before you open the lid, not once you're already holding something hot. Lift cast iron with both hands and set it down on a heat-resistant surface right away. Grip and move in one fluid motion: the longer the contact lasts, the more heat comes through.
Care
Wipe off grease and marinade straight away so nothing can burn in. Let them dry outside and only store them once they're truly dry.
