How to make it
Put the minced meat in a dish and add 2 tbsp sambal. More sambal is fine too, of course, but you'll also spread it on the bagel later, so watch out.
Add: garlic powder, onion powder, and pepper and salt to taste
Finely chop the shallot and 1 clove of garlic. Add half the shallot, and the whole clove of garlic. Use the other half of the shallot when topping the bagel
Mix everything together well and make 2 equal balls
Flatten the balls into burger patties
Make sure the Kamado is heated up to 200 degrees
Peel 1 clove of garlic and cut it in half
Cut the bagels in half and brush the cut sides with butter. Place them briefly on the grill until nicely browned. Rub them over with the garlic you just cut. Set aside
Place the burgers on the grill until done, read the instructions below on how that works
While the burgers are on the grill you can carry on preparing the bagels. First spread the bottom half with mayonnaise, the top half with sambal
Put a layer of Atjar on the bottom half
Slice the spring onion, coriander and gherkin
Time to assemble: place the burger on the bottom half of the bagel, top the burger with the spring onion, coriander, gherkin and the remaining shallot. Now put the top half of the bagel on. Enjoy!
