The ecolighter classic firelighter is the size that gets even a full charcoal basket or a fireplace fire going. One block burns long enough to properly bring the coals around it to life, even when you're working with coarser charcoal that doesn't catch immediately. Your pack contains ten blocks, so you have plenty for regular firing up. It releases no chemical smell and you taste nothing of it afterwards.

When to reach for an ecolighter classic firelighter

Choose this block when lighting a large fill of charcoal, working with coarse pieces, or firing up outdoors in wind and cold. The burn time is longer than with a small block, giving the coals real time to take over. For a short session with a small basket, a mini block is often already enough.

How to use it

Make a small dip in your charcoal and place the block in the middle. Cover it loosely with smaller pieces of coal so the flame has something to catch onto directly. Light the block at the edges and leave the bottom air vent and top damper fully open. Once the coals are glowing and the smoke runs clear, steer towards your target temperature with the vents.

Storage

Keep the blocks dry and away from food. A sealed container or the original packaging in the shed is fine. Damp makes lighting harder and the burn uneven.
