Ecolighter Mini Aanmaakblok - 32 stuks

An ecolighter mini firelighter is exactly big enough to light a nest of charcoal, and no bigger. You place one or two blocks between the coals, light them and let the kamado come up to temperature gently. The blocks burn steadily for a few minutes, even in the wind, and release no chemical smell while doing it. So you taste nothing of it in the food that goes on afterwards.

Why an ecolighter mini firelighter is handy

With methylated spirits or liquid firelighter fluid you always risk the flavour soaking into the ceramic. On a kamado that's annoying, because the smell lingers. These blocks solve that: they do their job and then disappear. The small size also means you don't use more firelighter than needed, and a pack of 32 lasts a long time.

How to light your kamado

Make a small dip in your charcoal, place one or two blocks in it and cover them loosely with small pieces of coal. Light the blocks and leave the bottom air vent and top damper fully open. Once you have a well-lit nest, close the lid and steer towards your target temperature with the vents.

Storage

Store the blocks dry and away from your kindling. Damp blocks burn worse and are harder to light. A closed box or tin in the shed is enough.
